GETTING AROUND

island, it is advisable to get a map
of the island. One can get around
by using the public transportation
system, or renting a private vehicle.
VEHICLE RENTALS
There are a number of vehicle car rental
agencies that offer a wide selection of vehicles
for rental at reasonable prices.
BICYCLE RENTAL
Exploring Montserrat on a bicycle is a good
adventure. This is a great way to enjoy the
local villages and sceneries.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
To travel via public transportation, there is a
choice of taxis, or minibuses. You can hail a
taxi or minibus as it passes, as there is no set |
|
schedule or officially-designated stops. These
vehicles usually stick to the main road and
are largely a day-time service with limited
trips in the evening.
DRIVERS LICENCE
A local driver’s licence is necessary if you
plan to drive in Montserrat. You can apply
for one at your port of entry or at the Police
Headquarters at Brades. The cost is EC$50
and you will need to produce a valid driver’s
license from your country of origin.
